All About Giraffes

I dig giraffes. They're sweet and lanky and I think images of them are just the cutest. I made one for my son's first birthday party invite and made a stuffed animal one for the top of his present. He likes to chew on his head… ah, the joys of a one year old.

I've also included a mini-giraffe round-up. What kind of blogger would I be without a giraffe round-up? Seriously.

2. Supertryer T-Shirt from awesome kid place, Moomah.

3. Giraffe boy card from I'm Smitten.

The Four Coursemen

While we were in Athens, we got to attend one of The Four Coursemen dinners. It was an amazing experience! Dinners are held in a shotgun house on a quiet residential street off the beaten path. We're greeted with wine and a bright collection of familiar faces. Two long wooden tables span the length of the dining room and we all sit together, like one big happy family. Dinner highlights included apple soup and pan seared quail. Each course was carefully paired with a lovely glass of wine. Check out their website for info on upcoming dinners (generally held twice per month).

For your weekend

I love these shoes! They're the inspiration behind the whole outfit. Let's go camping in a cool treehouse in this outfit. Or crush grapes! Something kinda fun, but a little outdoorsy. We were supposed to head up to St. Helena last night (thanks, Helen Jane), but had to cancel because I was struck down with the flu earlier in the week. Boohoo. I'm feeling better now, but am glad that I still have Sunday to recover before my husband heads back to work. Anyway, I'd have worn something like this to St. Helena. Next time!

1. JCrew vest

2. Target shirt

3. JCrew backpack

4. Urban Outfitters jeans

5. Converse from Free People

Today was brought to you by the letter 'A'

I spent the better part of this morning making this little stuffed letter (it's about 12 inches tall) for birthday girl, Amelia. I had the fabric (flowers on the front and light pale green on the back) and have been dying to start a series of alphabet letters. My sewing machine is still on loan, so I sewed this by hand with some white embroidery thread. It's not perfect by any means, but I'm quite happy with how my first letter turned out. I hope Amelia loves it!
