Rue Magazine

Recently I worked with Lauren, at Umba Box, a company that delivers curated handmade surprises to their subscribers. It was a dream shoot and here's the result- a full page in RUE magazine, the hippest online magazine around- woohoo! And major bonus points for being placed next to the Three Babes Bakeshop article. Noa, from Feather Love, did that shoot at the Bay Area Artist Workshop I attended. So having my photo next to hers is like a sweet, virtual hug! Here's a screenshot, but be sure to check out the whole, glorious issue right here.

Art Week at Pre-School

Last week's art week must have inspired our artsy Father's Day prints (son's art and my art).

My son is going to three weeks of morning summer camp school. He'll continue with this school in the fall, but the weeks probably won't be themed. Last week was Art Week. Here are a few quick pics of the Art Show they held on Friday.

Is/Are your kid(s) going to summer camp this summer? Did you go when you were young? I think my favorite camp when I was young was a day camp in Miami (where we were living for the summer with our Dad). It was tennis in the morning and sailing in the afternoon.

Next week: SCIENCE WEEK ;)

Strawberry Music Festival Photos

I've been a staff photographer for Strawberry Music Festival since I was 16 and it's basically the raddest job ever. I wander around for 4 days listening to great music, eating cool food, and meeting wonderful people! It's a rare chance to unplug from the phone, internet, and the outside world and just enjoy the space I'm in. It's easy to unwind when you're this close to Yosemite and camped out among the stars and nighttime jams. This Spring Fest was no exception. Thursday it was warm enough for swimming and on Friday it snowed. Saturday was cold and dreary and by Sunday, the warm sunshine was back and there were smiles all around. Musical highlights were the Wheeler Brothers, Robert Earl Keen, Alison Krauss and Union Station and Sarah and The Tall Boys. My son enjoyed the Wheeler Brother and Alison Krauss the most; his favorite cd is the soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou? and so we kept him up late to see Alison Krauss perform.

It's been nice to experience Strawberry over the ages. I've been coming to Strawberry since I was 12 and have made wonderful friends over the years. I went from making kid crafts to teen dances, drinking too much, and kissing boys. From sleeping just a little to sleeping a lot. Now I'm bringing my husband and 3 year old son and am thoroughly enjoying watching them experience Strawberry. It's so nice to know that my son will also grow up as a Strawberry kid, respecting the earth, good music, and kind people.

The festival was dedicated to our dear friend Denise Kerner, whom we lost unexpectedly in April.

Here are my top photo picks from the Memorial Day Snowberry. Have you been? What is your favorite part about it?? If you haven't been, there's another festival in September, over Labor Day weekend.

Eichler Home Tour

I love our sweet little community. Yesterday was the home tour and we couldn't be happier with our neighborhood. We loved looking at all of the houses, riding our bikes around neighborhood, and meeting new people! We got so many ideas for our landscaping renovation! Don't you love the bamboo?! I took a few photos between bike stops and juggling the toddler. Our son was a trooper- he was great at holding hands with us at every home and got a super surprise between house 3 & 4 where some neighbors had a slip & slide out for the kids. Since we didn't have a change of clothes, he asked if he could just take off all his clothes. What followed was basically the highlight of his life. And then to top it off, the "after party" had a few girls to chase & hug, which is really all he wants out of life right now.

Here are some, hope you enjoy.
