A Halloween in 3 Costumes

We spent this morning at my son's school. He was so excited to show his bi-plane to all his friends. During Show & Tell he told everyone how Uncle Alan made it and what colors we used to paint it. (Thanks to Jordan for the inspiration). After the school parade, he was a bit tired of wearing it so he did some face painting and later transformed in a clean lizard.

This evening, we'll trick-or-treat around our neighborhood in the bi-plane. And you'll be glad to know we're finally going to let him try candy!! We said he can pick out 1 piece and then trade in the rest for some new books. I like that idea and there are so many great alternative ideas if you don't want your kids to eat all of their candy (check out Design Mom's article on the topic). Happy Halloween, everyone!

Best Show & Tell Ever

Every week my son gets to bring something for Show & Tell at his preschool. They're usually things the kids make or books or drawing. Yesterday my son asked if he could bring in ultrasound pictures of the new baby :) I was delighted and of course said YES. It was so sweet to listen to the other kids ask him questions like "what is it?" and "where did you get it?" I'm due at the end of March.

An Awesome World

My favorite children's author is Dallas Clayton. He writes inspiring & unique books and has an amazing outlook on life. I seriously love the new commercial that Google Chrome made. And yes, I cried... within the first 8 seconds.

Bay Area Apple Picking

Adventure Thursday sent us apple picking!! We went to the Swanton Pacific Ranch, just north of Davenport, along Highway 1. It's a sweet little organic farm run by Cal Poly. We were the only ones there today, but it's Thursday and I didn't really expect to see anyone. My son enjoyed eating the apples (shocking, I know), but wasn't super into actually picking the apples. He was more interested in eating and weighing them. We'll definitely be back as other varieties ripen later in the season. Here are a few photos from our adventure. Where are your favorite "u-pick" places?
