San Francisco Wedding Photographer :: Susan & Ted part 3

Welcome to the last part of Susan & Ted's Legion of Honor wedding- the Reception!! After the ceremony and family, we had some time for portraits. I shot a ton of photos in 6 minutes (a record for me!!). The reception room was gorgeous! Thank you, Chestnut & Vine Floral Design for making the room gorgeous and thanks to Jane Hammond Events for all the delicious food. I really loved that all the tables were named after Beatles' songs! In place of a guest book, Susan & Ted's guests wrote sweet notes on vintage typewriters! Susan also made jars of apple butter for everyone!

After cake, we were treated to ice cream and cookies- a big win in my book.

To cap the night off, everyone piled into a bus & limo and went to the Tonga Room. How else would you want to end a San Francisco wedding?! What a fun night. Cheers to a lifetime of happy memories, Susan & Ted!

If you missed it, this wedding was featured on 7x7

Hooray for nice publicity! 7x7.com published Susan & Ted's wedding on their site. I love them. When we first moved to SF, I was HOOKED on 7x7.com. What a great resource!!

Here's the screenshot from the website! Main page, above the fold... doesn't get any better than that, kids. Things are looking bright :)

If you missed it on my blog, here's part one and part two of their wedding! Part three will be up soon (hopefully tomorrow)

Susan and Ted were married on a dark and stormy evening last fall at the stunning Legion of Honor. The ceremony was scheduled to take place on the lawn facing the Golden Gate Bridge, but was moved at the last hour due to less than ideal weather. They married in the auditorium and celebrated with friends and family! The food was delicious. The flowers were incredible, the music was pumping, and the the night was capped at the Tonga Room. Hooray for love!

For Sale

Woohoo- it's time to sell some stuff. Get it out of our garage so that we can make room for our floors that are supposed to be delivered later this week.

2 Chippendale chairs, $100/pair. This chair has a white finish and the other has been sanded. They're cool chairs, I just have run out of time and space to re-finish them. Your gain... looks like you can turn quite a profit on these guys! This is the frist link I found for a cleaned up version of these crazy chairs. SOLD

Ikea bookshelf, $100. Great shape, just not the right style for our new place... it almost reaches our 8ft ceiling. Solid wood and disassembles. Also has a level system at the bottom. Available next week.

Sander, $5. No commentary. Husband assumes it works, we can check it before you come over ;)

Metal sliders for the inside of cabinets, $5 for all. Taken from the kitchen, before the remodel. SOLD

Wall mounted microwave, $25. Seen here, in the old kitchen.

Awesome West Elm Desk, $100. Like new, only used for 1 year. Great for small spaces because it expands!

9 Gallons Martha Stewart paint, $50for all ($250 originally). Interior Semi-gloss. My sweet husband wanted FLAT. Whoops!! Great colors! Seen here in our living room and kitchen and here in our son's room- stripes!!

Living room carpet, $20. They put this carpet in our home before staging it, so it was in for just a few short months before we pulled it. No stains. Probably 25ft x 13ft. Seen here in the old living room! SOLD

Big Black Suitcase, $5. Well-loved

Chicco Baby Carrier, $5. New in box, never used.

Wire baskets, set of 4 (2 not pictured), $10 for all. The two in the photo are band new- just took them out of the plastic. The other two have been used for 1 month for clothes. SOLD

Oven & Stove Combo, $50. From the old kitchen. Seen here. SOLD

Double bed... Mattress, Boxspring, and metal frame, $20. The boxspring is in good shape. The mattress is older, but fine. We needed a trundle bed in the guest room so we don't need the double bed anymore. SOLD

Poster Tubes, $5 (originally $30) . A full box of 35. They look like this... pictured next to the cute sleeping baby!

2 Sliding closet doors (mirror), free. From the remodel... working just fine!

2 interior doors, $20 for both. From the remodel... working just fine!

Ikea coat hanger, $5 (originally $30). We have closets now and don't need it :)

Big ole mirror, $10. From remodel- seen here above the fireplace. SOLD

Cabinets, $20. Upper cabinets from kitchen. seen here before the remodel.

Happy February!

Well, it's February. Did you set goals or make resolutions for 2012? I wrote about my Goals and Ideas for 2012 last month and I thought it'd be interesting to follow-up on that post. Excerpts from my original post are in italics, followed by the "update."

1. I'm currently reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin...My goal for the next couple of weeks is to finish the book and start putting the ideas into action!
I haven't finished the book, but I'm reading regularly and making progress. I am still loving it!

2. Continue to expand my photography business....
I redesigned my website last week and have submitted a few of my weddings to my favorite wedding blogs in hopes of snagging a little more attention. I'm getting new business cards this week (as soon as I find my Pantone book so I can get the color right!). Next I need to find some fabulous brides. I'm only booking a few more weddings this year, so pass along my info to anyone you know.

3. Plant some edibles. We just bought a house in October and while we have a pretty solid vision for the interior, we're a bit clueless when it comes to what we want to do with the yard. Luckily, my mom is a stellar landscape architect. ...In the meantime, we'll probably join a CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) and get fresh, local produce every week!
We got our first CSA box yesterday. It's full of a bunch of fruits and veggies than I've never cooked with! Luckily, I have cookbooks and the internet. And a super awesome juicer if I can't find a recipe ;)

4. Get back to my Daily Kid Pic...
I'm super excited I started doing this again! In January I posted photos for 29/31 days- only 2 missed days! My faraway friends and family seem happy the Daily Pic is back, too! My fave photo of our son was taken on January 8th and is posted below.

5. Learn how to write a book proposal and then write it!! I have an amazing idea for a coffee table/photography book...
I haven't written the book proposal, but I have made a few new friends whom I'm hoping to photograph and interview. Not tons of progress, but it's a start :)

6. Finish the interior of our house! We have made a lot of progress in the past few months, but we still have a good bit of work to do on our sweet little Eichler...
Still working hard. The last few weekends have been spent on the hallway- painting the ceiling (3 coats), painting the door frames (there are 6!), painting the inside of the closet, laying down the floor and underfloor, fitting in new baseboard (cutting, painting, nailing, wood putty, caulking, and touching up the paint), and redoing the ventilation for the dryer. Whew! Much of the work has been done by my super awesome husband. My brother has been here a lot helping out, and I've been helping too, of course.

7. Have another baby! We've been working really hard at this and have had some bumps and bruises along the way (2 miscarriages and a complete molar pregnancy)...
Still working on this one, but will hopefully have good news to share soon.

SOOO, how about you? What are you doing this year?
