Blog It Forward!

**wow- there was an overwhelming response to this! victoria, the organizer is unable to accept additional participants, so I've eliminated her contact info. She capped it at 300!**

Here are the details from Victoria, aka, sfgirlbybay
• we’re going to share a connected stream of blogger posts on ‘what inspires us the most’ on our individual blogs, but link back & forward to the other blogs participating, a bit like a chain letter (but, hopefully a lot less annoying!).
• ez from creature comforts has graciously created this lovely badge to add to your blog if you are participating.
i’ll then make a list of bloggers who want to participate (perhaps alphabetically) and post it on monday, february 8th, and everyone will see when their post is due, and the order of the mashup. we will post one day at a time, starting with mine and move on to the next blog, and then the next — you get the idea.
- then, we’ll divide the list of 300 blogs into groups, and 5-10 blogs will post the first mashup on wednesday, february 10th. and from there, we’ll link to the next blog and that blogger will post on thursday, feb 11th, and then they’ll link back to the original blog, and then to the next blog on the list who will post on friday, february 12th and link back to the prior blog (we’ll skip weekends since they are slow) and so on and so forth.

Flowers

I think winter in SF is starting to bring me down. I'm tired of being all bundled up all the time. And, oh, I know it's probably colder wherever YOU live, but I'm also guessing that you have heat! Right now, we are living a life without heat, and not by choice like these folk. We had a wood-burning stove, but are in the long process of getting gas heat. So our place runs at about 58 degrees. Not awesome, but we'll survive. We have a space heater in our bedroom and one in our son's bedroom. Oh, I digress! This post is not supposed to be about our heat situation. I'm tired of winter so I cleaned off my bedside table and bought some lovely flowers! It's much more pleasant to wake up to fresh flowers & my 2 books than the stack of magazines and my clothes from the night before. I highly recommend this to get you through the final push to spring!

On a side note, anyone else reading (or read) Nuture Shock or Omnivore's Dilema? I'm currently reading both and am really enjoying them!

Blog it forward

I'm really excited about participating in the upcoming "blog it forward" mashup. The idea was brainstormed last night on Twitter... back and forth ideas between @sfgirlbybay and @swoonette. As bloggers we want to work together to create things, not compete! Details will be posted on Monday :)

More Flora

Whenever I want to be inspired, I head over to Flora Grubb Gardens. It's always full of wonderful plants, ideas, and innovation. I go all the time and the grounds never cease to amaze me. Brilliant and oh, so lovely! Here are a few photos from my last visit. You can purchase this succulent bouquet from their online shop!
