Cephalopods!

To celebrate my trek across the Bay, today's Friday Finds theme is Cephalopods (you know, squid, octopuses, etc.)! Pretty sure we don't have squid in these parts, but the idea of water/sea life is close enough, right? Right.

I've found the best three things on Etsy to fit the category. Let's get to it, shall we?

Skunkboy Creatures brings us Ophelia Octopus. She is about 2 apples tall and is made from recycled felt, vintage fabric, buttons, thread, wire, and stuffing. Go get her here.

Squid Ink Kollective has squid linens. Irresistible! I am in LOVE with this color, but they have actually sold. They have other colors; check out the red/orange and blue/green. I'm going to hold out for the mustard squid linens.

boygirlparty  I follow Susie on Twitter (@boygirlparty) and I was excited to see that she has the cutest Socktopus ever! Eight arms = 4 knit socks! But are they sock-wearers? You be the judge... check out her fine art print here

A Weekend Away

This weekend will be different than any weekends of the past 9 months. I'll be spending this weekend alone... no baby and no husband. I don't actually need a break from my husband, just the baby. But someone's got to stay with the baby and my husband has volunteered!

I'm going all the way to Berkeley, just across the Bay! Chris asked if that was far enough and I said as long as I can't hear the baby crying, it's far enough. So Berkeley it is! And I'm taking BART, too.

I have recommended the joie de vivre hotels to a few friends, but have never actually stayed there. I'm excited to try Hotel Durant, near the UC Berkeley campus. You can't drag photos of their site, so I'm giving you a screenshot. Rest assured, I'll take photos and post them.

I'm insanely excited about sleeping a lot and eating my meals slowly.

Brides Atlanta Magazine Feature!!

We're thrilled to be featured in the current issue of Bride Atlanta!! It hit the newsstand a few weeks ago, but I just got a slick PDF from our super cool photographers, ZoomWorks. Click on the photo or here for the full spread.

Want to know something funny/interesting? The magazine didn't include our baby in the article or photos. I guess Condé Nast is too conservative to include babies born out of wedlock. Luckily, we know he was there and we have tons of beautiful photos to prove it.

Here are some important details:
Venue :: Little Kings, downtown Athens, Ga
Flowers :: Gardenia Floral
Catering :: home.made catering
Photography :: ZoomWorks
Invitations & Stationery :: me, of course

Presidio Auction

I've never been to an auction before, but that's exactly where I'll be Friday morning! I simply can't wait for the Presidio auction on Friday at 9am.

Here are a few items I've got my eyes on. This is your fair warning, so don't out bid me, okay?

40 clocks. Hopefully my husband doesn't read this... he would not be a happy camper if I came home with 40 clocks!!
5 wall-mounted steel lab cases with glass doors
8 vinyl covered chairs!!

More info is on their website: Auction at the Presidio
