Oh, The National

There are so many things I miss about Athens (at the top of the list are our wonderful & amazing friends). Just below friends, though, is The National restaurant. As described on their website, "The idea behind The National is simple: to provide a casual neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of the bars and cafés we’ve enjoyed on travels to Europe. Mediterranean inspired food and wine is served for lunch and dinner in the dining room and throughout the day at the bar. While our menu points to culinary traditions from abroad, we value our local farmers and our dishes reflect the changing seasons in Northeast Georgia."

I did their logo and design identity, so I'm extra proud of them! They got a great lil write-up in the NY Times yesterday, making me miss them even more... didn't know that was possible! Photo by Emily Hall.

The Bird Machine

It's no super secret that I love the work of Jay Ryan, artist of The Bird Machine. He has an animal-inspired imagination and is one heck of a color whiz!

I went to see Andrew Bird last week and there are some new shirts created by Mr. Ryan. Check out the shop.

Here a few favorites... Field Tested Books poster for swanksters Coudal, an old Andrew Bird poster, and a new My Morning Jacket poster.

I'd live in New York if...

Photographer Jay Maisel, his wife, and daughter live in this building. It was bought in 1966 for $102,000. Now real-estate brokers estimate it’s worth at least $30 million.

Full story with photos can be found here.

I'd live in New York if I had been the one to buy this building in 1966. It's not perfect, but it has so much charm and possibility that it keeps me up at night.

Felt + Onesie

I made this pretty sweet little onesie to possibly sell in the JetKat Etsy Shop. It's not my norm of stationery and invites, but I think it's worth a shot... any opinions out there in web-land?

It's a Gerber Organic Onesie 3-6 month in size. My boy is about 2 months in these photos... a hefty little monkey, if you ask me.

I used bright turquoise and a mustard orange felt shapes and glued them to the onesie.

UPDATE: I added the onesie to the shop
